COGTA MEC Fikile Xasa this morning descended to the Mbizana Local Municipal area on a monitoring visit to the initiation schools.
During his day long visit MEC Xasa will get a briefing from the Monitoring Teams comprised of Councillors, traditional leaders and members of the South African Police Services (SAPS).
The briefing will focus on the general state of the winter initiation season including the cause of death of three initiates, more information about the bail conditions of the notorious traditional surgeon in the area Lulama Ngezana known as Lusikisiki, the arrest of a local traditional leader and a visit to the rescue centre.
Tomorrow the forty four (44) initiates in the rescue centre will be released to the care of their families.
