Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Ismail Vadi will on Tuesday, 23 February 2016 launch Phase 2 construction of the K46 Road (William Nicol Drive). The road, located between PWV5 (Jukskei River) and P158/2 in Diepsloot, serves as an important link between the N14 in the north and the N1 in the south
The R55 million project is aimed at upgrading William Nicol Drive (P79-1) from a single carriageway road to a dual carriageway. The upgrade is expected to improve road user mobility through increased road capacity and provide improved access to Diepsloot, Fourways and Randburg areas.
The project, partly funded by both the developer Steyn City Development and the Gauteng Department Roads and Transport, includes upgrading of Rose Interchange as well as the upgrading of storm-water drainage systems and other relevant road infrastructure.
