The MEC for Education; Mrs Reginah Mhaule will convene a meeting with all circuit managers in the province on Friday, 15 January 2016 at Protea Hotel, Emalahleni in the Emalahleni Local Municipality at 10h00.
The MEC will use this opportunity to present a detailed analysis of results for Grade 1 to 12. This meeting will also seek to outline the 2016 School Intervention Programme which will be used to improve the pass rate across all grades.
All circuit managers will be expected to sign a pledge aimed at committing themselves and their staff members to work harder at improving the provincial grade 12 results and that all circuits will perform above 70% in the 2016 Grade 12 results.
“29 circuits performed between 80% and 100% and 35 performed above 60% but below 80% and only four circuits from the 68 performed below 60%. I am going to have a discussion that will see all Circuit Managers signing an agreement committing themselves that in 2016 no single circuit will perform below 70%”, said MEC Mhaule.
