MEC Mazibuko saddened by the death of Christopher Kubheka
MEC for the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Ms Faith Mazibuko, is saddened at the news of the passing of actor Jabu Christopher Kubheka, best known for his iconic character ‘Gunman’ in the ground breaking series Yizo Yizo.
Says MEC Mazibuko: “I wish to extend deepest condolences to the Kubheka family, friends and loved ones. We have lost a remarkable entertainer whose character as Gunman in YizoYizo will forever be engraved in the minds of many.
“In YizoYizo he was part of young and ground-breaking new production that ushered-in brutally honest storylines which got the country talking.
His craft as an actor was most definitely sharpened by experiences in the streets including community theatre. May his soul rest in eternal peace”.
