The Eastern Cape Department of Education (ECDoE) MEC, Mandla Makupula will tomorrow the 5th of February 2016 hand over the R11 million worth Haukile Primary School in the Cofimvaba Education district at 10:00.
The multi-million school consists of seven classrooms, an admin block, a nutrition centre, a media centre, a Grade R facility, and toilets for learners. Construction of this school forms part of the government Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Development Initiative (ASIDI) which seeks to eradicate improper and mud structures in the province.
The investment on school infrastructure follows government’s commitment to make education one of its apex priorities, and address huge backlogs in this province especially in rural areas. The construction of this school project has seen an employment of 52 community members as part of the skills transfer to the local residents.
