MEC Magome Masike leads Cancer Awareness March, 12 Aug

North West Health MEC, Dr Magome Masike will tomorrow lead a march aimed at sensitizing communities about dangers of cancer in Potchefstroom. The cancer awareness march is an initiative by Health Professionals of South Africa, The Cancer Association of South Africa and North West University, Potch Campus.

The 6.5 km march will start from Ikageng stadium to Trimpark in Potchefstroom where services such as screening for prostate and cervical cancer as well as breast examination will be done for free.

Cancer remains one of most fatal diseases in the whole world if not detected early and treated. The aim is to ensure that society becomes aware of the importance of early detection of cancer.

MEC Masike will address marchers at Trimpark. Community members are encouraged to join the march to raise cancer awareness by wearing pink and yellow T-shirts.
