Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Dr. Ismail Vadi will on Friday, 4 December 2015 pay a Christmas visit to the SOS Children’s Village in Mamelodi.
Together with Transport Portfolio Committee from the Gauteng Legislature and departments officials, MEC Vadi will donate gifts to orphaned and abandoned children at the Village.
Every year the department identifies centres that cater for disadvantaged children and hosts a memorable year end function for them.
The SOS Children’s Village focuses on Child Development programmes, building families for children in need and helping them in shaping their future. These interventions enable the children to develop to their full potential in a caring environment.
Each child that lives in the SOS Children's Village receives quality education and healthcare. The village consists of 96 children between the ages 2 – 23 years.
