Constitutional Court to hear Gauteng Health medico legal application
Gauteng MEC for Health, Dr Gwen Ramokgopa will on Sunday, 13 August 2017, brief members of the media about the Department’s medico legal application with the Constitutional Court. The Department launched the application with an aim to maintain a balance between its constitutional mandate to provide quality healthcare services without putting a strain on its resources.
The application, which will be heard next week Thursday, forms part of the new approach by the Department in managing medico legal claims. The MEC will also announce the names of the members who will serve on the Patient Safety and Medico Legal Advisory Panel.
