MEC for Education convenes a prayer meeting for the 2016 academic year
The MEC for Education, Mrs. Reginah Mhaule in collaboration with the Moral Regeneration Movement will on Friday, 22 January 2016 convene a meeting with Provincial Pastors at Ingwenyama Lodge, White River in the Mbombela Local Municipality at 12h00.
This is an annual scheduled meeting intended to inform the pastors of the outcome of the previous years results of all grades, to inform them of the plans for 2016 and to request them to be involved in matters of improving education delivery.
“We cannot ignore the role played by our Religious leaders in ensuring that throughout the year Learning and Teaching takes place without any hindrance and we really appreciate their earnest efforts.
The Scripture of Philippians 4: 6 says; “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”. It is on the basis of this scripture that I am saying let us all come together and request for a smooth and no hindrance 2016. Said the MEC Reginah Mhaule.
At the occasion of the announcement of 2015 NSC Grade 12 results, the MEC indicated that she will convene meetings with all Circuit Managers, Secondary School Principals, Quality Learning and Teaching Committee Structures and all Religious Leaders to discuss issues relating to the improvement of learner performance.
On 15 January 2016, the MEC convened a meeting with all 68 Circuit Managers to analyse the results of Grade 1 – 12 and also outline the 2016 School Intervention Programme which will be used to improve the pass rate across all grades.
In that meeting all circuit managers signed a pledge committing themselves and their staff to work harder at improving the provincial grade 12 results and that all circuits will perform above 70% in the 2016 Grade 12 results.
