MEC Barbara Creecy sends condolences to R41 accident families

Acting Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Barbara Creecy has expressed shock over the horrific accident that took place on the R41 in Randfontein which claimed at least 14 and left others injured this Friday afternoon.

At least 13 people died on the scene and one was confirmed dead at Leratong Hospital. Three people survived with one in critical condition after a taxi collided with a truck.

MEC Creecy expressed her deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased during this time of grief and speedy recovery to the injured. We would like to once again urge drivers to always exercise caution and patience on the roads, especially over the long weekend,” MEC Creecy said.

The exact details of the cause of the accident are still being investigated.
