MEC Alan Winde welcomes Kenya - Cape Town direct flight route

Western Cape MEC of Economic Opportunities, Alan Winde, has noted an announcement this morning (19 April 2016) by Kenya Airways that from July it will fly a Nairobi – Livingstone – Cape Town route three times per week.

MEC Winde applauded the move: “This is great news for air access to our destination, and it will no doubt contribute to growing tourism to our region. Our Air Access team, based at Wesgro, has worked over the past few years to develop the business case for a route to Kenya. This hard work has paid off.

We will continue to drive direct flights to our region as part of Project Khulisa. Direct flights bring much needed tourists to our economy, driving jobs and growth.”

MEC Winde also thanked the team at Kenya Airways for investing in our destination.
