Marking of the Grade 12 scripts concludes smoothly
Marking of the National Senior Certificates scripts at the 15 marking centres across the North West province will conclude on Monday, 14 December 2015 without incidents.
The final examinations for the Grade 12 candidates started on 26 October 2015 until 27 November 2015 and North West reported a smooth progress.
The North West Education and Sport Development MEC, Maphefo Matsemela who was excited about how the examination turned out, visited various centres to support teachers during the marking period.
“It is important as the leader of the department to ensure that I visit the marking centres to monitor and support the markers during this process. I am visiting the centres to monitor that markers are able to meet their deadlines and also to ensure that our scripts of the learners are kept at a safe place.
“I am happy to announce that in all the centres which I have visited there have not been any reports of irregularities reported. I am confident to tell the nation that there are no challenges experienced throughout the process, papers are already packaged to be taken to Mmabatho for capturing”, said MEC Matsemela.
MEC Matsemela further said that the department of education in nature, it is results oriented and as government they will be happy to see many learners passing their Grade 12 come the day of the results.
Lucky Selete who is a Venue Manager at the Brits Hoer Skool marking centre expressed that the marking process ran smooth and they were able to comply with their daily targets.
He highlighted that all markers will be released on Monday, 14 December 2015 and the centres will be closed on Monday at 10:00am when scripts will be submitted for capturing in Mmabatho.
The North West province will release their matric results on Wednesday, 6 January 2016 at Hoer Skool Wolmaranstad at Wolmaranstad in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District at Maquassi Hills Local Municipality.
