Mandela day activities
The Free State Provincial Government invites you to join our various departments in commemorating International Nelson Mandela Day 2017. The departments will travel across the province to devote an all-important 67 minutes of service to the people of the Free State.
The Free State Provincial Treasury and Letsemeng Local Municipality will be engaged on the following programme for Nelson Mandela Day:
- Cleaning and Painting of 25 Houses in Wanda Farm outside Luckhoff in Letsemeng Local Municipality
- Soap Kitchen at Petrusburg for 600 elderly people (joint Programme with Shoprite/Checkers )
- Renovation of a House in Koffiefontein

The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will hold a Nelson Mandela Lecture at the Bloemfontein Wesleyan Church Museum in Bloemfontein.

The Department of Public Works & Infrastructure will be hosting its Mandela Day activities in Bethany just outside Bloemfontein along the N1 towards Trompsburg.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will be at Seabo Primary School in Welkom to handover food parcels to 120 learners who come from the neediest backgrounds.
