North West Premier is handing over vouchers to Makweteng land claims in Tswaing Local Municpality, North West Province
Honorable Premier of the North West Province, S.R.O Mahumapelo accompanied by Member of the Executive Committee responsible for Rural, Environmental and Agricultural Development, Honourable M. Tlhape as well as the hosting Major, Counsellor Malwane will on Tuesday 14th March 2017 issue financial compensation vouchers to the value of R26 183 492.00, which will be shared amongst 121 household.
This financial compensation vouchers is as a result of a successful land claim submitted by Makweteng land claimants which was lodged through a Restitution of Land Rights Act, 1994 (Act No. 22 of 1994) as amended.
From the approved 121 household, 115 are home-owners and 06 tenants. Each household from the 115 household will be receiving an amount of R221 894 whist the 6 tenants will be receiving R110 947 each.
