Premier SOR Mahumapelo of the North West Province and MEC for Public Works and Roads Madoda Sambatha will tomorrow, Tuesday, 19 July 2016, lead a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion and grand opening of the 22.8km road between Meetmekaar and Setlopo villages outside Mahikeng. The road was upgraded from gravel to tar by the department of Public Works and Roads.
The Premier and MEC will thereafter proceed to Kopela village where they will turn the first sod for the construction of a 13km road between Kopela village and Atamelang township in Tswaing Local Municipality, which will be upgraded from gravel to tar.
These road infrastructure projects are implemented as part of the Villages Development Plan, and are expected to create temporary jobs for the locals.
