Limpopo hosts Provincial Stability Summit in Polokwane, 14 to 15 Mar

The Limpopo Provincial Government will host the Provincial Stability Summit to address the increasing instability in the province with government stakeholders.

It is known that prior to the National Government Elections, most of the province experience community protests and shutdowns. During the previous elections numerous community protests were characterized by prolonged road closures restricting freedom of movement, disruptions of education, economic and criminal activities, as well as damage to state property.

Previous experience made Limpopo Provincial Government under the Leadership of Premier Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha to take a vital decision in planning for hosting stability summit aimed at addressing root causes, fighting crime and restoring stability prior and after 2019 National and Provincial Elections.

The main objectives of the summit is to ensure stability in the province during elections, review current strategies of dealing with matters of instability in the province towards ensuring efficiency and synergy and ensure sustainability integrated,multi-agency strategies and plans to ensure provincial stability. The Provincial Stability Summit will be held as follows:
