Premier Chupu Mathabatha visits Lim 345 Municipality as part of Imbizo programme

Limpopo Provincial Executive Council had for the first time visited the newly established Lim 345 municipality at Mudavula stadium, Mudavula village on the 14 October 2016 as part of its Imbizo programme. This Imbizo took place after the local government elections that here held on the 3 August 2016.

Premier Chupu Stanley Mathabatha led the Limpopo EXCO to its first interaction session with residents of newly established Lim 345 Municipality. The Premier went to visit two struggling households at Mbhalati village to ensure they too can taste the fruits of democratic government of a better life for all.

Premier Mathabatha officiated the sod turning of a house to be built for Mr Gezani Bila who is residing in a one room shack at Mbhalati village. The shack is open which is life threatening during heavy weather conditions. He said that he is glad now that government will built him a house.

Premier went front opposite to hand over a newly build BNG house to destitute family orphans of Mathebula. The Premier was accompanied by MEC for CoGHSTA Makoma Makhurupetje, MEC for Social Development Joyce Mashamba, Vhembe District Executive Mayor Cllr Florence Radzilani, Lim 345 Mayor Cllr Joyce Bila, Acting DG Nnana Manamela and local residents came to witness and celebrate with the two families.

Premier Mathabatha said as citizens, we must embrace the spirit of ubuntu to those who can't provide for themselves. He said it wouldn't be fair for government to hand over a house to the Mathebula orphans while there is a shack at front opposite. Government was it befitting that both families be assisted.

The entourage continued to meet and listen to the multitudes communities at Mudavula stadium. The Outreach was attended by residents from Mudavula under the jurisdiction of Hosi and Deputy Chair of Limpopo House of Traditional leaders Eric Chauke and surrounding villages. Residents came out in numbers to air their service delivery challenges.

“At long last we are here in Mudavhula, we are her in Lim 345 Municipality. I am very excited that we are her and meeting in this manner”, said Premier Mathabatha addressing residents. He added that communities must stay together in harmony and peace as different tributes.  

“This will help us deal with common enemy such as unemployment, inequality, poverty and deal with that problem because united we stand, divided we fall”, added Premier. He concluded by thanking communities for exercising their much fought democratic rights by voting in the last local government elections.

Communities in attendance raised issues related to water, gravel roads, housing, amongst others. MECs responded to issues affecting their departments while Premier Mathabatha promised that all issues will be followed up and get addressed.

The Limpopo Provincial Government will be visiting Manganeng village, Makhuduthamaga Municipality this coming Friday, 21 October 2016. It will then be followed by Makhushane village, Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality in November 2016.
