The Electoral Commission will officially launch the 2016 Municipal Elections on Thursday 14 January 2016 at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.
At the event, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission will unveil the communications campaign for the upcoming elections aimed at encouraging voter participation especially among young and first-time voters. This includes plans for a nationwide voter registration weekend to be held in March.
Members of the Commission and administration of the Electoral Commission will be on hand to discuss preparations for the Municipal Elections which are scheduled to take place between May and August this year.
