Minister to handover the ‘One Household One Hectare’ plots in Krugerspost Farm - Cookhouse - Eastern Cape
Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, the Honourable Gugile Nkwinti will on Monday 08 August 2016 handover ploughing plots as part of the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform’s One Household-One Hectare programme.
This initiative is part of the department’s strategy of combating poverty and to end structural marginaliSation of rural economies. In Cookhouse, 220 households will be handed over plots. One Household-One Hectare programme focuses on rekindling a class of black small holder farmers as well as to create sustainable employment in rural areas.
The Minister will also sign a Troika agreement between farmworkers and investors of the Kommetjieshoek farm.
