Killing of Johannesburg Police Constable condemned
The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Police, Mr Francois Beukman, has condemned the killing of a 31-year-old police constable who was shot and killed during a robbery last night in Diepsloot, Johannesburg.
Mr Beukman extended the Committee’s heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and to his colleagues in the South African Police Service (SAPS).
He further called on all the role players to double their efforts towards dealing with police killings.
“Police killers should receive the strongest sanctions from our Courts,” said Mr Beukman.
Mr Beukman further urged all community members to work with police officers to prevent these killings.
