Department helps to clean rural villages in Kagiso-Molopo local municipality
The MEC for Local Government and Human Settlements, Galaletsang Gaolaolwe will on Monday, 28 November 2016 from 8h00, officially launch the provincial waste management awareness campaign in Ganyesa in Kagisano-Molopo local municipality.
The campaign is intended to encourage communities and business society to take care of the environment by refraining from littering. The campaign is part of the department’s support to municipalities to implement waste management programmes in line with the national waste strategy which promotes healthy environment through sound waste management and application of waste management hierarchy.
The department will roll out the campaign in at least five local municipalities, i.e. Mahikeng, Tswaing, Kagisano-Molopo, Moses Kotane and Maquassi Hills.
