Justice embarks on 2016 Child Protection Week Awareness campaign, 27 May

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development in partnership with stakeholders will take part in the 2016 Child Protection Week to honour and celebrate children's interest.

The department is commissioned to advocate for justice and among other responsibilities is to provide for the promotion of the of rule law. It is against this background that the department deemed it important to participate in the 2016 Child Protection Week in response to this noble call of caring and protecting the rights of children.

The campaign starts today May 27, 2016 with a launch at Naledi Local Municipality and move to other local municipalities within Dr R.S Mompati District till 2 June  2016.  Centres to be visited are Early Learning Centres and Primary Schools mainly at needy rural communities. The campaign will be sealed again at Naledi Local Municipality with two activities taking place on the same day on 2 June 2016.

The activities will take place as follows:

Launch (Awareness Campaign focusing on parental skills aligned with Children loitering on the streets, Single parenting and Child headed households.
