Invitation to the launch of the Judicial Service Commission Investigative report

On Wednesday, 7 December 2016, the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) will be launching the Investigative report into transformation of the Judiciary following a complaint lodged by Democratic Governance and Rights Unit and Sonke Gender Justice.

The Commission is empowered by Section 11(1)(a) of the Commission for Gender Equality Act 39 of 1996 (as amended), to monitor and evaluate policies and practices of organs of state at any level, statutory bodies and authorities, private businesses, enterprises and institutions in order to promote gender equality and make recommendations that the Commission deems necessary.  

Section 11 (1)(e) further states that the CGE shall investigate any gender-related issues of its own accord or on receipt of complaint.

The Commission for Gender Equality therefore cordially invites members of the media to this briefing during which the Commission will outline the findings and recommendations of the report.
