Deputy Minister Ayanda Dlodlo holds Imbizo in Kroonstad, 14 Oct

The Deputy Minister for Public Service and Administration, Ms Ayanda Dlodlo, will hold an Imbizo in the Moqhaka Local Municipality and engage the community of Seeisoville in Kroonstad on Friday, 14 October 2016.

The Imbizo is an initiative to create a platform for government and the citizens of Moqhaka Local Municipality to engage on issues that affect them and together explore possible solutions. This programme also provides an opportunity for government to respond to issues that were raised in a Fezile Dabi District meeting which took place on 4 September 2016.

The key issues affecting the community include social, human settlements and local economic development. Other challenges in this area include a high percentage of unemployment especially among the youth, uncertainty in waiting list processes in the delivery of RDP houses, lack of electricity is some sections of Maokeng and the shortage of water supply.

There is also a need for local development opportunities to support the drive to establish entities that create business and employment opportunities for the local community.

The Deputy Minister’s public participation programme (Imbizo) is a strategic vehicle that enables government to interact with citizens in a quest to improve service delivery in support of the priorities of government.
