Free State Environmental Affairs hands over waste compacting machine, 15 Jun

Handover of (Baler) Waste Compacting Machine

Effective waste management is the centrepiece of prudent environmental management. Good waste management follows primarily the 3Rs: Reduce, Re-use and Recycle; as well as avoiding illegal dumping and littering. Establishment of buy back centres where waste is sorted in different categories provides a platform for waste pickers and waste collection administrators to turn waste management, particularly waste recycling into a lucrative and viable economic activity.

Shokoma Trading Enterprise in Kutlawanong, and Charma Recyclers in Bloemfontein will see their efforts rewarded by Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs when they will be receiving baler machines on the 15 June 2016. The baler machines assist in compressing waste and giving it more weight at the collection point.

The details of the handover are as follows:

Date: Wednesday, 15 June 2016
Time: 9h00
Venue: Lynchfield (Bloemfontein).

The media is invited.
