Western Cape Economic Opportunities hosts green economy exhibition, 1 Sept

Green tech focus at Ministry First Thursday

Innovative green technologies, designed in the Western Cape, will be showcased at the MEC of Economic Opportunities this First Thursday.

The exhibition is curated by GreenCape, and will feature products produced locally, including PV panels, batteries and inverter units.

Alan Winde, MEC of Economic Opportunities, said the green economy was an important economic catalyst for the province.

“Investments worth over R17 billion have been made in the Western Cape’s renewable energy sector, generating 2000 jobs in the past five years. Our renewables program is a draw-card for foreign firms and we are also home to talented and innovative entrepreneurs in this industry. I encourage all residents to join us this First Thursday to learn about the exciting developments in this area. Our doors are open to all members of the public.”
