The MEC for MEC for Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism Mr Seaparo Sekoati, will on behalf of the Deputy Minister of Environmental Affairs, Ms Barbara Thomson, preside over a graduation ceremony of 92 unemployed leaners who competently completed Environmental Practice Learnership Programme on Friday 24 June 2016 at the Capricorn TVET College in Polokwane, Limpopo Province.
The Environmental Practice Learnership Programme is championed by the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) in partnership with the Local Government Sector Education Training Authority (LGSETA) and five hosting municipalities in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces. The programme offers an official SAQA accredited experiential training over a period of 12 months with a with a minimum of 140 credits.
The main objective of the programme is to equip the South African youths with the skills, knowledge and understanding required in terms of the new local government competency framework for environmental occupations.
The MEC will be joined by representatives from LGSETA and five municipalities in both Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces.
