General Bheki Cele commemorates Mandela Day with young farmers
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, General Bheki Cele has dedicated 2017 as the year for youth in agriculture, forestry and fisheries. As part of his ongoing interactions with young people in these sectors, the Deputy Minister will interact with young farmers and learners studying agriculture at an imbizo to be held in Ulundi, KwaZulu-Natal.
He will also award bursaries to learners who will be pursuing qualifications in agriculture, forestry or fisheries.
67 households were identified in Ulundi and will be assisted with starting food gardens through a donation of starter packs and 67 fruit trees as part of the Mandela Day commemoration.
