Gauteng Roads and Transport leads department’s Mandela Day road maintenance of Golden Highway, 18 Jul

Gauteng MEC for Public Transport and Roads Infrastructure, Jacob Mamabolo, will on Monday, 18 July 2022, lead the department’s Mandela Day road maintenance drive in the City of Johannesburg as part of this year’s Mandela Day commemoration activities.

In line with the Department’s strategic objective of Growing Gauteng Together Through Smart Mobility, the department will conduct pothole patching, grass cutting and road markings maintenance along the Golden Highway among other activities.

Held under the theme: “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are”, the day gives everyone an opportunity to heed the call to action for people to recognise their individual power to make an imprint and change the world around them. As such, people across the globe are encouraged to dedicate 67 minutes of their time in service to others.

Details of the event are as follows:

Date: 18 July 2021
Venue: From Viking to Olifantsvlei Cemetery along Golden Highway
Time: 12h00
