Gauteng Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Deliwe de Lange will on Tuesday, 20 September 2016, brief the Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Community Safety on the province’s Annual Crime Statistics.
The Commissioner will provide an account particularly focusing on the number of crimes committed in Gauteng during the 2015/16 financial year.
The Commissioner’s appearance before the Committee is in line with its mandate to conduct oversight over law enforcement agencies in the Province. The mandate also includes monitoring the performance of the South African Police Service and all Traffic Police Departments in Gauteng.
