Gauteng to launch N14 (Phase 2) rehabilitation project
Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Ismail Vadi, will on Tuesday, 9 May 2017, launch Phase 2 of the N14 rehabilitation project in Centurion.
The R444 million project is fully funded by the provincial government and is expected to be completed in 24 months.
The project will improve the structural and functional condition of the road.
A new 15km fast lane at the Diepsloot interchange will also be constructed.
Additional objectives include provision of skills development opportunities, training and economic empowerment to SMMEs.
The road was originally constructed in 1978 and it is envisioned that the rehabilitation project will extend its optimal lifespan by 15 years.
