Five suspects arrested at University road Auckland Park
At about 10h30 today 10 June 2016, five suspects were arrested at Auckland Park University Road after robbing a shop in Westdene. The suspects allegedly stole money, cigarettes and airtime.
After the robbery, the shopkeeper went outside the shop and saw a flying squad vehicle patrolling in the area; he then informed the police that they have been robbed by suspects in a white Mercedes Benz.
Flying squad members went on a look out for the suspects. A vehicle that matched the description was spotted at University Road, immediately the suspects were apprehended and the goods were recovered.
The suspects are facing charges of business robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and the possession of stolen property.
