MEC Donald Grant briefs media on First Kiss campaign, 13 Jun

Tomorrow, Monday, 13 June 2016, Western Cape MEC of Transport and Public Works, Donald Grant, and Safely Home will be briefing the media on the results of the extensive seatbelt compliance survey carried out as part of the controversial “First Kiss” campaign.

“First Kiss” was released in March 2016 as part of Safely Home’s #BeTheChange theme of the Road Safety Calendar. The core of the campaign is a hard-hitting TV commercial showing the consequences of not buckling up. The commercial was widely praised for its exceptional quality, and won two advertising industry awards within weeks of release.

The in-depth survey was conducted at four main interchanges in the City of Cape Town; Belville, CBD, Mitchell’s Plain, and Khayelitsha. Minister Grant and Safely Home will be revealing the results of this survey and the next steps as part of the ongoing “First Kiss” campaign.

Media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for photographs and interviews. Please indicate via email if you will be in attendance.
