Police hosts National Commemoration Day in honour of fallen heroes and heroines, 4 Sept

The South African Police Service (SAPS) will be hosting the annual National Commemoration Day ceremony in honour of SAPS members who lost their lives in line of duty.

During the ceremony, family members of the deceased and the SAPS leadership will lay wreaths as they pay a special tribute to the fallen heroes and heroines who died between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2016.

The ceremony will be led by the Minister of Police, Mr Nkosinathi Nhleko, the Deputy Minister of Police, Ms Makgotso Sotyu, and the acting National Commissioner of the SAPS, Lieutenant General Khomotso Phahlane.
