Finance Minister-designate Malusi Gigaba is humbled by the opportunity extended to him to serve the country and the people of South Africa as Minister of Finance.
He has had discussions with his predecessor, Mr Pravin Gordhan, and they have agreed to a meeting soon. The Minister-designate has met with the National Treasury Director-General and has therefore been briefed on pertinent and most urgent issues.
This afternoon, 31 March 2017, the Minister-designate will have a ‘meet and greet’ with the members of the Executive Committee (EXCO) at National Treasury, at 15h30. This will only be a ‘meet and greet’ with the media invited only for a photo opportunity, as questions will be taken at the media briefing scheduled for Saturday, 1 April, at 11h00.
