Engagement between SCOPA and Ministry is necessary to resolve crisis at Military Veterans department
The Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) believes it is necessary to meet with the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans and the Deputy Minister of Military Veterans to find a solution to the crisis in the department.
The Committee believes that it is not getting anywhere with the administration of the department and believes that political leadership might provide more answers regarding the instability in the department.
The Committee is also concerned with the lack of leadership in the department which has a direct impact on military veterans who are not getting the necessary services due to the incompetence of the officials of the department. SCOPA has noted that nothing has changed in this department from the last time it appeared before the Committee last year.
