Entrepreneurs from across the province are invited by the Western Cape Government to targeted sessions aimed at preparing them to make funding applications.
Alan Winde, Minister of Economic Opportunities, said the Department of Economic Development and Tourism is calling on small businesses to apply to attend the latest round of the Investment Readiness Programme.
Minister Winde said DEDAT launched the sessions in 2015 after feedback from funders at the Western Cape Funding Fair.
“Funders raised the concern that many entrepreneurs, although they had excellent business concepts, needed more support with packaging their funding applications.”
The workshops will include the following topics:
- Forms of funding
- Key elements of the business plan
- Steps to improve business readiness
Criteria for businesses to attend the workshops include:
- Small to Medium Enterprises that are sourcing investment or actively looking for funding or have an early stage application in process;
- Trading for at least three years;
- Tax compliant;
- Provide verified financial statements.
