Eastern Cape Safety and Liaison hosts social crime prevention programme, 15 Sept

Department of Safety and Liaison takes social crime prevention programme to the highest level

The Department of Safety and Liaison has begun to take the implementation of Social Crime Prevention Programme to the highest trajectory in the Province of the Eastern Cape.

In increasing our efforts towards building safer communities, the Department of Safety and Liaison will be hosting a social crime prevention programme in Ilinge Township, Chris Hani District Municipality.

This programme comes as a result of a clarion call made to the MEC by the community of Ilinge that, murder, rape and assaults are the order of the day in the area.

In this regard, the MEC felt prudent for the department to mobilize and organize the community members of Ilinge Township in a community hall, in order to deal with crime related incidents as a matter of extreme urgency.

The programme will be graced by the presence of the Honourable MEC Weziwe Tikana, the Provincial Commissioner of SAPS and a host of other high profile figures.

All members of the media fraternity are invited to be part of this massive programme in order to get first-hand information from the political leadership of the department.
