DWS hosts its final National Consultation on Raw Water Tariffs for 2018/19 cycle
The Department of Water and Sanitation will host its final National Consultation on Raw Water Tariffs for the 2018/19 financial cycle on Friday, 25 August 2017, at the Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni.
The consultation is aimed at soliciting inputs from particularly women stakeholders to find appropriate methods of funding water resource management, water resource development and use of waterworks.
The consultation also aims to find ways of setting the charges in ways that will contribute to social equity, redress the imbalances of the past, protect ecological reserves, ensure financial sustainability and reflect the scarcity of water as an essential commodity.
