The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms Nomvula Mokonyane has approved the gazette for the revised Pricing Strategy for raw water use charges as well as the Norms and Standards for water tariffs. The revision of the documents intends to achieve the following:
Pricing strategy
- To recover the costs of providing the service
- To incentivise efficient water use
Norms and Standards
- To address limitations in existing Section 10 Norms & Standards
- To align the Norms & Standards with the Legislative requirements, National Water Services Regulation Strategy and the principles of the Raw Water Pricing Strategy
