Deputy Minister Pamela Tshwete hands over media classroom to Pula Madibogo Primary School, 29 Jul

The Deputy Minister of the Department of Water and Sanitation Ms Pamela Tshwete in partnership with the MTN Foundation SA is scheduled to handover the Media Class at Pula Madibogo Primary School on the 29 July 2016. The media classroom is an award to the school for winning in the music category in the Baswa Le Meetse (BLM) sub-programme under the Vision 2020 Programme.

Under the theme: Washing of hands, use and care of sanitation facilities for a healthy life, the school won R6 000, 20 monitors and two PCs: the new N- Computing solution, Data Projector, Multifunctional printer, Connectivity comprising of 2routers, two modems ,two data cards and R1000 Internet service subsidy for 24 months.

Preparation for the existing classroom includes: Painting, floor tiling, ceiling, electrical fitting , burglar bars , windows and doors alert alarm and air conditioner.

The 2020 Vision for Water & Education Programme (2020 VFWEEP)) is an initiative of the Department of Water and Sanitation. It started in 1996 with the aim of integrating water resources management into the school curriculum. The programme has the following components: Baswa le Meetse (Youth in Water), School Curriculum Support and South African Youth Prize.

The main aim of the programme is to stimulate interest of the Youth in water and sanitation, encourage them to pursue careers in water resource management, and revive arts and culture.
