Review of the Tourism, Hospitality and Consumer Studies Curriculum for the Industry
Deputy Minister Tokozile Xasa, in partnership with UMALUSI, will host a workshop to present the findings of the reviewed Tourism, Hospitality and Consumer Studies Curriculum for the industry.
The department embarked on the review to ascertain the value of the current curriculum in relation to the needs of the industry, and to ensure that quality assurance processes are in place.
Themed “An inward and outward look at Tourism, Hospitality and Consumer Studies for the Tourism Industry”, the Department hopes to achieve the following outcomes from the workshop:
- Communicate the recommendations of the research findings conducted in Tourism, Hospitality and Consumer Studies; and
- Motivate stakeholders to embrace their responsibility towards developing teachers and affording learners optimal exposure for in-service training.
