Deputy Minister of Small Business Development Elizabeth Thabethe to address the South Africa-US Business Forum during the Economic Summit in New York, USA

The Deputy Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Elizabeth Thabethe will be addressing the 19th annual Wall Street Project Economic Summit in New York, United State of America on the 18th of February 2016. The Deputy Minister is expected to address the South Africa –US Business Forum as part of the summit programme taking place from the 16 -18 February 2016.

Deputy Minister Thabethe will also participate at various commissions during the summit with a particular interest on opportunities and support for small to medium enterprises. The South Africa-US Business-2-Business forum offers American and South African investors, businesses and government officials a rich interactive opportunity to directly engage one another in this business-conducive environment.

Visionary keynote speeches and success stories will be delivered by some of the most successful business leaders who have been at the forefront of economic transformation. Business executives will present their business’s interests and engage directly with complementing investors and potential business partners. Thus, participants will be able to exchange ideas, create connections, and ask conference speakers questions of their interest.

Deputy Minister Thabethe said that this year’s theme of the summit is entitled “New paradigm-Access to opportunity” and hope that many of the opportunities that will arise from this economic summit will benefit small to medium enterprises including women owned enterprises.

“This platform is critical for both established and emerging entrepreneurs because it is without doubt that as we bring foreign investments into the country, increased local production and economic growth is inevitable and jobs will be created.” exhumed Thabethe.

“Our partnership with the Rainbow Push Coalition and Citizenship Education Fund which hosted a successful “African Economic Expansion Summit” last year in Durban, seeks to introduce South African entrepreneurs to international markets whilst encouraging foreign investors to take up opportunities in our country in many sectors including, energy, mining, infrastructure development and tourism amongst others, added Thabethe.
