The Deputy Minister of Communications, Ms Stella Ndabeni Abrahams will, on Tuesday 19 July 2016, lead a youth information and career EXPO in Manyisane, Mqanduli.
This programme is a response to a call made by the young people of Mqanduli who reached out to the Deputy Minister to bring information about the wide array of education, career and business opportunities available for youth in government, State Owned Entities (SOEs) and the private sector.
Encouraged by the high skills shortage, unemployment and substance abuse in the area; the Deputy Minister heeded to this noble call. The multi-stakeholder EXPO will focus on:
- Providing access to information opportunities and funding mechanisms available for youth in business.
- Showcasing learnership and career opportunities available in government and its SOEs.
- Availing bursary opportunities available in government and its SOEs.
- Rallying and mobilising the youth to vote in the upcoming 2016 Local government elections.
