Arts and Culture Deputy Minister, Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi, will officiate the 2015 Performing Arts Festival and Prize Giving Ceremony on Saturday, 12 December 2015 at Makhuvha Stadium, in Thulamela Local Municipality, Limpopo.
This auspicious occasion will be in the form of a cultural festival featuring ground-breaking competition amongst traditional and indigenous dancing groups representative of the various categories of the Tshivenda, Xitsonga and Sepedi cultures such as Tshikona, Tshigombela, Malende, Visa, Kiba, Kekaba, Magagasi, Muchongolo, Xigubu, Xicaicai and Xibelani.
The winners and runners-up will be honoured with Prizes and Trophies as tokens of appreciation for their sterling contribution towards the promotion of traditional dancing as an important attribute of our diverse culture and heritage in South Africa.
The festival will be hosted by The Matsila Community Development Trust in partnership with Phalaphala FM and it has been funded by the National Lotteries Commission.
