Deputy Minister John Jeffery hosts learners’ dialogue on importance of Constitution, 13 Jun

As part of commemorating the Youth Month, the Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr John Jeffery, will host a dialogue with 1000 learners on the importance of the Constitution on Monday, 13 June 2016 at the Nasrec Expo Centre Hall, Johannesburg. The Deputy Minister will be accompanied by the MEC of Education in Gauteng, Mr. Panyaza Lesufi, and the Chief Executive Officer of Proudly South Africa, Mr. Leslie Sedibe.

The dialogue will take place under the theme: “Youth Moving South Africa forward” to recognise the important role that the youth continue to play in the development of the country. Learners in Grade 10, 11 and 12 from different schools in Gauteng will interact with the panelists on how to exercise their constitutional rights to enhance their livelihood.

During the dialogue, the Department will expand on its plan to heighten awareness of the Constitution among the learners which include the distribution of slim-line Constitutions to all Grade 12 learners across the country.
