The Deputy Minister of Basic Education (DBE) Mr Enver Surty will on Tuesday 24 May 2016 address the Teacher and Social Cohesion Roundtable. DBE in partnership with the Centre for International Teacher Education (CITE), Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), United Nations Children’s fund (UNICEF) are hosting the discussions.
The Roundtable will focus on presenting the findings of the Centre for International Teacher Education (CITE) while also examining how teachers and teaching are supporting the aim of education for peace building; under the four main subthemes of:
- Teacher recruitment, deployment and management;
- Initial teacher education and continuous professional development;
- National School Curriculum and textbooks; and
- Teacher Accountability and Trust.
