Transport Deputy Minister drives Shova Kalula Back to School Campaign in Thabazimbi

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms Dikeledi Magadzi will donate Shova Kalula bicycles to pupils at the Northam Comprehensive School in Thabazimbi, Limpopo on Friday, 19 February 2021.

MEC for Education in Limpopo, Ms Polly Boshielo and MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Ms Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya will join Deputy Minister Magadzi. Mr Dickson Masemola who is the MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure in Limpopo will also take part in the handover ceremony.

The Shova Kalula bicycle programme is part of the department’s Scholar Transport programme. It aimed at solving mobility problems for learners walking more than three kilometres to school. The department has been able to deliver more than 100 000 bicycles to deserving schools in the nine provinces since 2001 when the programme commenced.
