Deputy Minister Buti Manamela hosts Backchat session in celebration of Freedom Month in Parktown, 29 Apr

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Mr Buti Manamela, will host a BackChat session at the National Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences in Parktown, Johannesburg, on Thursday, 29 April 2021, at 17h30.

The Deputy Minister will be in conversation with Dr Bongani Nyoka, the author of "The Social and Political Thought of Archie Mafeje" as part of Freedom Month celebrations.

BackChat sessions are a platform for unmediated conversations between the Deputy Minister and young university scholars, writers, activists, policy makers, academia, students, government officials and diaspora.

The intention is to raise awareness and encourage robust conversation among participants, and to give them an opportunity for their voices to be heard.
