Deputy Minister Bheki Cele visits Daybreak Farms, 15 Jan

The Ministry of The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will today, Friday 15 January 2016 pay a courtesy visit to Daybreak Poultry Abattoir in Delmas Mpumalanga. This visit was initiated and facilitated by The Deputy Minister of The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, General Bheki Cele.

This comes as part of the department's master plan of strengthening and enhancing partnership relations with the industry, particularly black emerging and well established farmers.

The visit will achieve amongst others the strategy of open markets going forward and also discussions around the AGOA issues that are directly or indirectly affecting the poultry industry.

Speaking about the visit CEO Mr Kholofelo Maponya said, “After being approached and engaging in discussions with the Minister of Agriculture Mr Senzeni Zokwana and his Deputy Minister, General Bheki Cele, we look forward to hosting the Ministry for a tour of our facilities.  We look forward to fruitful discussions on the impact of the ongoing AGOA discussions on the local poultry industry.  Daybreak Farms reiterates its commitment to, above all else, ensure the citizens of South Africa enjoy good quality, healthy poultry,” concluded Mr Maponya.
